DB House New Brunswick is the newest home in the DB House network — recovery residences across New Jersey run by people who have lived this.
Where we come from
DB House started in Bergen County with one house and one conviction: that what keeps people sober after treatment isn’t willpower, it’s environment. A substance-free home, a schedule that holds, and people who notice.
Today the network runs 11 Class F licensed sober living residences across New Jersey — homes for men and homes for women, each with a live-in house manager and the same two-page rulebook. New Brunswick is our first home in Middlesex County, opened to serve the center of the state.
Why New Brunswick
New Brunswick sits at the center of everything early recovery needs: a dense recovery-meeting landscape, major treatment providers and hospitals, NJ Transit rail to Newark and New York, and a walkable downtown with real jobs. Residents rebuild their lives here without needing a car to do it.
The house itself is on a quiet residential block — close enough to everything, far enough from the noise.
Recovery isn’t a place you check into. It’s a life you practice — and practice needs a home.
What we believe
- Housing is not treatment. We don’t provide clinical care — we provide the stable home that makes your treatment and your meetings work.
- Structure is kindness. Curfew, chores, and screening aren’t punishments. They’re the promises the house keeps to everyone in it.
