The structure, in writing
The rules exist so the house stays safe for everyone in it. The big ones:
- Substance-free, no exceptions — random screening
- Curfew: 11 pm weeknights, midnight weekends
- Three recovery meetings a week, minimum
- Work, school, or program enrollment within 30 days
- Weekly house meeting — attendance required
- Chores rotation; common areas kept clean
- Guests in common areas, during visiting hours
The full rulebook is two pages. We read it together at intake, and you sign it knowing exactly what you agreed to.
A manager who lives here
Your house manager
In recovery themselves, trained by the DB House network. The house manager does wake-ups, runs the weekly house meeting, and answers the 2 a.m. phone calls.
What that means day to day
Someone is always accountable for the house — screening, medication checks, disputes, emergencies. Not an office you call; a person down the hall.
Minutes from downtown New Brunswick
“A furnished bedroom is the listing. Somebody knocking on your door every morning until getting up gets easy — that’s the house.”
